Our History
Founded in 1882 by A. Gans, the company was originally run as a bed feather factory. During this time, the first cleaning machines for down and feathers were developed and made the product extremely popular as a filling material for bedding in the K.u.K. Monarchy in Vienna. Thus, in the pre-war period, in addition to the factories, about a dozen branches were gradually established.
After the Second World War, the range was extended to include bed linen, and in the late 1970s the new owners completely reorganised it and added exclusive products.
"Gans" is now continued by the new owner family in the 3rd generation with great attention to detail and in proven handicraft. A combination of tradition and modern "zeitgeist".

As early as 1882, A. Gans opened the first down manufacture in Vienna. Enthusiastic about the new quality, the aristocracy, the upper middle classes and the noble hotels of the Austrian monarchy soon became regular customers. Even at the turn of the century, the name Gans was synonymous with down quilts and bed linen of the highest quality.
And this has not changed until today. Our fine bedding is sought after and in demand all over the world.
We have gathered our knowledge over more than a century and combined it with modern sleep research findings. We match the right measurements, personal warmth requirements and different sleeping habits to your wishes.
